SCOE 2009 Wrap-Up

We had a great time in Seattle last summer at SCOE!  There were over 250 attendees, and 20 vendors with products and services developed specifically for online sellers.

Saturday morning began with a kickoff speech from Benson Chan, Product Manager at Myspace.com, on Branding Your Online Business Through Your Custom Website and Using Social Media.  In the afternoon, Benson hosted breakout sessions to help attendees create their own websites.

We then broke out into small groups defined by business models.  These groups developed questions to be presented to Amazon on Monday.  In the afternoon, multi-track vendor presentations were given.  At all times, vendors were available at their tables.  Lunch was buffet style and was served in the vendor room.

On Sunday, Peter Faricy, Amazon VP of Movies and Music provided our keynote speech.  Following that, Amazon provided an entire day of multi-track content that addressed topics such as Trust and Safety, Amazon Webstores, Fulfillment by Amazon and Seller Success.  There were Seller Support reps on hand to answer the questions of individual sellers.  Many attendees participated in focus groups to help determine future Amazon product offerings.

On Monday, we were hosted at Amazon Headquarters at PacMed.  A panel discussion addressed many of the questions created by the business model breakouts on Saturday.  Amazon then treated us to lunch, and we were returned to the Marriott to end the weekend event.
